When I first became a trainer, many moons ago, a colleague at the time told me about “Chunking”. Basically, you concentrate on the morning’s activities, not those in the afternoon and certainly not those of the day after!
This recently got me thinking about people’s job finding, and how the concept of chunking could be used.
Many people set off on their job finding endeavours like a bullet out of a gun, quickly writing a CV or rehashing an old version, searching the job sites on the internet and firing them off like buckshot.
A great deal of these job finders then sit around awaiting the letterbox to continuously rattle with interview offers. They then sit around waiting, and wait a lot more ……
